Carmona City in Cavite reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to its Municipal Health Office (MHO), the fourth time this month that the municipality tallied zero infections.

"Ikinagagalak naming ipabatid sa inyo na ngayong araw, Nobyembre 9, 2021, WALANG naitalang bagong kumpirmadong positibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa Bayan ng Carmona ayon sa Municipal Health Office," said Carmona City Mayor Roy Loyola on a Facebook post.

This is the fourth time this month that the city did not record any COVID-19 case, after November 1, 6, and 7. In other days this month, Carmona only recorded between one and four new infections each day.

This is despite the number of transients and workers coming from outside the municipality, according to Loyola.

The Carmona mayor attributed the decreasing number of cases to the city's vaccination strategy and the citizens' discipline in stamping out COVID-19.

"Unang-una 'yung pagdidisiplina, continuous ang aming pagdidisiplina sa mga mamamayan, paghigpit sa mga public gatherings, pagsunod sa minimum health protocol," said Loyola in an interview with DZRH.

(First, the discipline, we are continuously disciplining our citizens, restricting public gatherings, and following minimum health protocol.)

He also cited the efforts of barangay officials and police personnel, who he said worked hard to find and reprimand those flouting minimum public health protocols.

"Tapos makita mo 'yung ating mga tao sa Municipal Health Office sa kanilang pagbabakuna, minsan inaabot sila ng gabi para mabakunahan ang ating mga kababayan na nais magpabakuna," Loyola added.

(And then you would see staff at the Municipal Health Office during vaccinations, sometimes they are there until evening just to vaccinate citizens who want to get vaccinated.)

"I think that's the best strategy that is very successful para bumaba yung COVID cases sa bayan ng Carmona."

Loyola said the population has also been cooperative in the city's vaccination strategy, with 79% receiving their first dose and 65% already fully immunized against COVID-19.

"Ngayon, magsisimula na kaming magbakuna ng mga bata naman 12 to 17. Medyo dinudumog na yung aming vaccination center," he said. "Hopefully, by end of December or November, tapos na kami sa pagbabakuna."

(Now, we are starting to vaccinate children aged 12 to 17. Our vaccination centers are slightly getting crowded. Hopefully, by the end of December or November, we are done with vaccinations.)

Carmona and the rest of Cavite province are under Alert Level 3 until November 14.

"Patuloy pa rin tayong sumunod sa mga alituntunin ng COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL 3 at maging updated lamang mula sa verified and credible sources tulad ng Municipal Government of Carmona," reminded Loyola on Facebook.

(Let us continue following the guidelines of COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL 3 and let us stay updated from verified and credible sources like the Municipal Government of Carmona.)
