Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Two Time World Champion Carlos Yulo said on Tuesday, August 7, that he already forgave his mother, Angelica Poquiz Yulo.
In a video posted in TikTok, the 24-year old gymnast admitted that his mother has been taking his earnings from winning medals in tournaments.
Carlos particularly mentioned that his mother did not inform him that she already received the cash incentives for his silver medal, and bronze medal in the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in the United Kingdom.
The gymnast said that his mother took the cash incentives without his consent.
Binigay ko na," Carlos said in the video.
Carlos said that he has a copy of the bank statements proving that his mother withdrew the cash incentives, as well as his monthly allowance, from his bank account.
Aside from the issue regarding money, the relationship between Carlos and his mother further got strained by her disapproval of Chloe San Juan, the girlfriend of the gymnast.
"Hinusgahan niya kaagad si Chloe sa pananamit," the gymnast stressed.
Carlos pointed out that his girlfriend grew up outside of the Philippines, in Australia, and the two countries have different cultures.
Carlos hopes that his mother will move from the issues between the two of them.
"Napatawag ko na kayo long time ago.
The feud between Carlos and his mother became public following the remarks made by the latter in an interview, and in social media after the gymnast won two gold medals in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
