The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that there were no damages reported in the airports following the magnitude 6 earthquake that struck Davao de Oro on Wednesday.
CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio said on Thursday that the initial assessment shows no damage happened at Davao International Airports' runway, buildings, and structures.
Likewise, no damage was recorded in Mati Airport in Davao Oriental, Laguindingan Airport, and General Santos International Airport, which all were fine and reported normal operations.
At 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday, the magnitude 6 earthquake jolted 9km southeast of Compostela municipality.
Meanwhile, the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) traced the quake's epicenter at 12km. northeast of New Bataan municipality, generating 345 aftershocks at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, 29 of which were plotted and one was felt.
The aftershocks ranged in magnitude from 1.5 to 3.6.
