A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck the municipality of Anini-y in Antique at 10:18 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS).

The tremor was tectonic in origin and occurred at a shallow depth, PHIVOLCS reported.

Despite the noticeable shaking, the agency confirmed that there is no expected damage or aftershocks following the quake.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the area, but no injuries or structural damage have been reported as of this time.
