A Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services (PAMAS) R44 Raven helicopter crashed in a banana plantation in Sitio Babahagon, Lantapan, Bukidnon, on Friday, July 28.
According to Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services (PAMAS), Jared Hoewing, a PAMAS pilot was flying the R44 helicopter this morning around 10 a.m. near the base located in Valencia City, Bukidnon, when the helicopter began losing power.
"He was at around 3,000 feet altitude when the helicopter began losing power, and he had to do an emergency landing in a banana field about 3 miles from the airbase," PAMAS said.
Two pilots and two passengers who were on the chopper survived the incident.
"Thankfully, neither the pilot nor passengers were seriously injured. One passenger was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, but his condition was not critical. There were no other injuries. We will give further updates on the situation as they become available," it added.
Lantapan Fire Station, which responded to the incident, said that they immediately conducted an assessment, checked vital signs, applied splinting, and loaded the spine board.
