Britain's ugliest dog in 2023 is now co-stars with household names Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Deadpool & Wolverine.

Peggy is a pugese, which is a cross between a pug and a Chinese Crested, who will be making her Hollywood debut as Deadpool's sidekick, "Dogpool."

The Ugliest Dog contest brought Peggy on Reynolds' radar. He cast her in the movie, feeling she was Wade Wilson's (Deadpool's alter ego) "animal manifestation." Beginning as a "tiny little afterthought," her role turned out to be a "staple" in the movie, Reynolds told Empire Magazine.

She was adopted at six months old by Leven, East Yorkshire resident Holly Middleton five years ago. She was last to be taken home, being the runt of her litter and because of her appearance. After clinching the UK title, Peggy was described by her loving owner as "beautiful both inside and out."
