Bongalon proposes more credible witnesses for PDEA leaks investigation

House Assistant Majority Leader Raul Angelo "Jil" Bongalon believes former hitman Arturo Lascañas and veteran anti-drug operative Eduardo Acierto should testify in the 'PDEA leaks' investigation

House Assistant Majority Leader Raul Angelo "Jil" Bongalon said the 'PDEA leaks' investigation must be concluded if there are no more witnesses to present.

In a report by RH Milky Rigonan during Damdaming Bayan, Bongalon said that Senate leaders should determine whether the investigation will be further pursued or ceased as evidence has been found lacking, and former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Intelligence Officer Jonathan Morales' testimony was found dubious.

In Bongalon's opinion, Ronald "Bato" de la Rosa's Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs should invite Arturo Lascañas, a self-confessed member of the Davao Death Squad, and Eduardo Acierto, a veteran anti-drug operative.

The two have more credibility and are better able to shed light on drug campaign allegations, also because both have been involved in past investigations and show documents for their claims.

"Let's call these guys, Acierto and Lascañas. And we'll see kung sino po talaga ang nagsasabi ng totoo and kung ano talaga ang totoo, o ano kaya ang realidad patungkol sa War on Drugs dito po sa ating bansa. And let them, these guys, tell the whole world kung anong kinalaman nila or ano ang nalalaman nila patungkol sa droga at mga naging biktima, most especially during the previous administration," Bongalon said.

["Let's call Acierto and Lascañas. We'll see then who is really telling the truth and what that truth is, or the reality of the War on Drugs here in our country. Let them tell the whole world their involvement in and what they know about [anti-drug operations] and its victims, particularly during the last administration."]

In an interview, President Bongbong Marcos called Morales a "jukebox" that you can drop money into and will sing whatever tune you want it to.
