Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), the political party that fielded presidential aspirant Sen. Christopher 'Bong' Go, said there are no talks of him backing out of the race.
"No talks about backing out," said PDDS president Greco Belgica in a statement.
"Tuloy lang kami. Totoo naman na nakakagulat para sa lahat. But we have a job and a duty to fulfill," he added.
Belgica made the statement after Go, in a chance interview on Wednesday, admitted that he is still in a "state of shock" for being chosen as the standard-bearer of PDDS.
"Sa totoo lang po, nasa state of shock pa rin ako. Di ko po alam bakit ako nandito at bilang kandidato bilang pangulo. Nasa-shock parin po ako," Go told reporters on the sidelines of the distribution of aid to fire victims in Quezon City.
[To be honest, I am still in a state of shock. I don't know why I am here, running for the presidency. I am still in shock.]
"Nag-reresist po talaga ang aking utak, puso, at aking katawan. Nabigla po ako sa aking pagtakbo, napakahirap po ng aking sitwasyon," he added.
[My mind, heart, and body still resist. I am still shocked that I am running, my situation is hard.]
When asked if this means he might still withdraw from the presidential race, Go admitted it's an option although he was ready to serve.
"Iniisip ko pa nang mabuti. Nag-aantay po ako ng sign sa Panginoon. Kung sa tingin niyang, dito ka na lang Bong, susundin ko po at syempre yung Pilipino," Go said.
On November 13, Go withdrew his initial vice presidential bid under the PDP-Laban party and instead substituted the presidential bet of allied party Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan.
