Quiapo Church will be holding a motorcade for the Black Nazarene on Good Friday, according to its parochial vicar, the first time the image is out to the public since the pandemic broke out.
Douglas Badong told DZRH in an interview.
(The Nazarene will be out on 12 midnight. That’s a Friday already for the motorcade.)
(It was not out for the past two years, we will to get the image out this year.)
However, Badong warned the public against being barefoot and flocking to the motorcade, adding that there will be no ropes available for people to pull during the activity.
(We urge the devotees to understand that we are still not back to normal. This is just a motorcade. No one is allowed to be barefoot, and everyone joining should cooperate to make the event peaceful.)
(Please do not flock to the image. It will not be pulled or held by a rope.)
A Facebook post from Quiapo Church said the entry point will be on the Carriedo side, with the motorcade to go around the church.
"And pagbabasbas ay gaganapin pagkatapos ng prusisyon," it said.
(The blessing will be held after the procession.)
The church also urged the public to coordinate with the Balangay Coordinators for additional details.
(Follow the health safety protocols like wearing face masks and observance of physical distancing.)
The event will be held as the city of Manila is placed under the least restrictive Alert Level 1, as the country reports low COVID-19 infections as of late.
