Following the Holy Week exodus, over 23,000 travelers crowded the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in the early hours of Easter Sunday.
During DZRH’s Maynila Ito Ang Pilipinas, RH 5 Val Gonzales reported that an influx of passengers had arrived at the terminal as of 7 AM. The report mentioned that passengers who arrived early were from various provinces, including those who will be exiting the National Capital Region (NCR).
Moreover, the report indicated that more passengers were at the terminal on Easter Sunday, April 20, compared to the previous days.
Bus bays to and from Metro Manila are also packed with passengers. Amid the influx of travelers, security and personnel at the landport will be ready to assist passengers.
The report also mentioned that no heavy traffic was monitored in parts of PITX, including the South and North Luzon expressways.
More passengers are expected to arrive at the terminal early Monday, for the resumption of classes and work.
As of 9 AM, 37,280 travelers arrived at the terminal. However, the terminal’s head stated that the number is not the expected peak passenger count following this year’s Holy Week exodus.
According to Jason Salvador, PITX Head of Corporate Affairs, Government Relations and Branding, more passengers are expected to arrive in the afternoon and evening. He assured that their personnel will be ready to provide their service to passengers.
