The Bureau of Immigration (BI) apprehended a Chinese national slated for deportation over allegations of involvement in human trafficking and prostitution crimes.
BI Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Joel Viado revealed that the 51-year-old Chinese man named Du Shuizhong was intercepted on September 19 at NAIA Terminal 1 while attempting to board an Air China flight to Chengdu, China.
Viado mentioned that the Chinese fugitive will be subjected to a deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against him in November of 2023 for being an 'undersirable alien.'
According to records, Du was charged by the BI for being undocumented and deemed undesirable after it was discovered that he was employed at an establishment allegedly linked to prostitution and labor exploitation.
The suspect was barred from leaving the country following his arrest and was brought to the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Additionally, he has been placed on the blacklist and banned from re-entering the country.
He will remain in the Bureau of Immigration's facility until his deportation is carried out.
