San Miguel Beermen routed Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, 109-85, on Sunday, February 4, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, and took a 2-0 lead in the 2023-2024 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals.
Bennie Boatwright Jr. tallied 34 points and 10 rebounds while sevent-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Beermen to dominate Game Two of the best-of-seven finals series.
The Beermen never felt threatened after ending the first half with a 13-point lead, 54-31.
Tyler Bey tallied 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Andy Barroca added 11 points to pace the Hotshots that trailed behind by 28 points in the match.
San Miguel, which remains undefeated since acquiring the services of Boatwright, seek to extend the winning streak of the team to 12 games, and take a 3-0 lead in Game Three on Wednesday, February 7, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
