President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. conveyed his warm greetings to all the workforce in the government in celebration of the Philippines' 123rd Civil Service Anniversary.

In a video message released by the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Tuesday, the President extended his greetings and highlighted his appreciation to all the civil servants in the government.

"It is an honor to greet the 1.8 million strong government workforce. Our public servants, mga kapwa kong lingkjod bayan sa lahat ng sangay ng pamahalaan. A meaningful and joyous 123rd Philippine Service Anniversary," Marcos said.

"Today, we not only commemorate the anniversary of the Civil Service Commission but also honor the dedication and commitment of all individuals who served the government," he added.

The Chief Executive expressed his gratitude to all civil servants who work tirelessly with excellence and integrity to deliver the quality service that all Filipinos deserve, despite the numerous challenges in the performance of their respective public service mandates.

He also called on every lingkod bayan to strive harder toward achieving the united goal of providing a better future for the country.

Marcos praised CSC for its "steadfast commitment to continuously transforming the human resource and organizational development landscape of the Philippine bureaucracy to hone agile and future-ready servant heroes."

On September 19, 1900, the Philippines Civil Service Commission (CSC) was established under the virtue of Public Law No. 5, which defines "an Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Island."

The Second Philippine Commission formally established the Philippines' civil service system by forming the Civil Service Board, which was later reformed into a Bureau in 1905.
