Department of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla on Wednesday said the autopsy report of inmate Jun Villamor, the alleged middleman in the Percy Lapid killing, will be released on Friday.
In a report by RH Boy Gonzales, Remulla explained that he and Doctor Raquel Fortun, the physician who is conducting the second autopsy, talked last Tuesday night.
“Dra. Fortun, she will come up with a written result by Friday so please give her the time to prepare for the written results of the autopsy. I think we can all be able to discern from that, from the findings," Remulla told reporters.
He also mentioned that the DOJ is now looking at at least eight "persons of interest" in the murder of Percy Lapid, whose real name is Percival Mabasa, and that these individuals might know something about the death of Villamor.
Among the 8 individuals, 3 of them are with the Philippine National Police (PNP), 3 are in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), 1 is in the facility of the military and another one is eventually to be taken from the Bureau of Corrections.
Remulla noted that the number of ‘persons of interest’ might still increase depending on the information of the investigation.
At least two siblings of Villamor are now under custody of the DOJ since they are the ones who have gotten messages from the middleman about the plan to kill Percy Lapid.
Jun Villamor was found dead inside the Bilibid prison last October 18. He was rushed to the NBP hospital where he was declared 'dead on arrival.'
