A total of 63,864 units of public vehicles across the country have benefited within the first two days of fuel subsidy distribution, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Based on the regulatory board's latest data, a total of 23,047 operators of public vehicles nationwide received such subsidies on September 13th, while 40,817 received them the following day.
In the same data, it was recorded that most of those previously granted such subsidies were operators of Traditional Public Utility Jeepneys (TPUJ) while operators of Modern Public Utility Jeepneys (MPUJ), Public Utility Bus (PUB), Mini-bus (MB), Tourist Transport Services (TTS), School Transport Services (STS), Filcab, and other public vehicles.
Among those who have already received fuel subsidies are the operators of Mini-bus (MB), Tourist Transport Services (TTS), School Transport Services (STS), and Filcabs.
The LTFRB ensures that they will continue to distribute subsidies as immediate government aid for operators and drivers of public vehicles affected by the increase in the price of petroleum products.
