The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced that it will start distributing fuel subsidies to an estimated 1.36 million operators of public and modern utility vehicles, tricycles, and private vehicles, on Wednesday, September 13.
In a statement on Tuesday, LTFRB said 280,000 of the 1.36 million expected beneficiaries are PUV operators.
Meanwhile, 930,000 are tricycles and 150,000 are delivery services.
Here is the breakdown of the particular amount that each operator would be receiving, according to the agency:
- Modernized PUJs and UV Express (UVE) - 10,000
- Delivery services - P1,200
- Tricycle - P1,000
- PUVs, including Traditional Public Utility Jeepneys (TPUJ), Traditional Utility Vehicle Express (TUVE), Public Utility Buses (PUB), Minibuses, Taxis Shuttle Services Taxis, Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS), Tourist Transport Services
- School Transport Services, Filcabs - P6,500
The aforementioned operators will receive the fuel subsidy through digital banking, such as e-wallet accounts, bank accounts, and fuel subsidy cards.
LTFRB said the rollout comes after the Memorandum of Agreement and Joint Memorandum Circular No. 02, series of 2023, directing the implementation of the Pantawid Pasada Program (PPP) or the Fuel Subsidy Program (FSP) was signed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Energy (DOE), LTFRB, and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).
