Another person of interest in the brutal death of Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday.
The latest suspect, identified as Aron Cruz and also known as Bonez among the Tau Gamma Phi member, was seen entering the NBI-National Capital Region wearing a light gray hoodie.
During the Senate panel investigation on Tuesday, sole witness Roi Dela Cruz revealed that Cruz and another frat member, alias Thugz, declined to bring Salilig, 24, to the hospital even when the latter was no longer responsive after the fraternity's 'welcoming rites' last February 18 in Binan, Laguna.
"Nu’ng nagse-seizure s'ya sa baba, nag-request po ako sa kanila na baka puwede dalhin sa ospital. Nagalit po sila sa akin, 'yung Bonez at tsaka 'yung Thugz, kasi bawal daw po yon," he said.
Ten days later, on February 28, his body was found in a decomposing state in a vacant lot in Malagasang, Imus, Cavite.
Seven suspects who were involved in Salilig's death were present at the Senate hearing, including 23-year-old Daniel Perry, the master initiator during the hazing procedure.
