Angel Otom advances to finals in Paris Paralympics

Filipina swimmer Angel Otom remains in contention for a medal in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
Otom clocked in 44.03 seconds on Tuesday, September 3, to claim one of the eight spots in the finals of the women's 50 meters backstroke S5 event.
She finished at fourth place in her heat, and seventh overall.
Dong Lu of China topped the preliminary round after she finished the race at 39.48 seconds followed by her fellow countrywomen Shengga He, and Yu Liu, who clocked in 41.31 seconds, and 42.59 seconds, respectively.

Otom returns to action on Wednesday, September 4 (Manila time).
