The Filipino soldiers are “primed to defend the motherland, with courage, honor, and unwavering resolve,” the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. said, amid the escalating global tensions.
In a statement, Brawner said that the AFP remains steadfast in its mission to defend the nation and will continue to uphold its duty with “vigilance and resolve.”
“The Filipino soldier is — and will always be — primed to defend the motherland, with courage, honor, and unwavering resolve,” the AFP Chief of Staff highlighted, reaffirming every Filipino soldier’s readiness and dedication.
According to Brawner, the AFP’s enduring legacy was borne out of countless battles since its founding in 1897.
“From fighting colonial rule to addressing modern-day threats, this long and storied history is the foundation of the Filipino warrior’s strength and identity. More than weaponry or technology, it is this unshakable spirit and patriotism that defines the AFP’s true might,” the AFP said.
On Friday, June 27, RH Edniel Parrosa reported that National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro stated they are forging agreements with other countries. This is to prevent the country from becoming too reliant on the United States (US).
The Philippines currently has ties with Australia and Japan, but is also in talks with France and other countries.
