Former Interior Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos said Vice President Sara Duterte should show some respect following her recent statements against the Marcos camp.
"Magbigay dapat sana tayo ng respeto, buhay man o patay, kung ano man yung issue dito. We might have disagreements, maaaring mayroon tayong hindi pagkakaunawaan, pero sana ay respetuhin natin, buhay man o patay," Abalos told DZRH News.
The reaction came after Duterte's statement during a press conference on Friday, where she addressed the ongoing feud between her and President Marcos Jr.'s camp.
The Vice President said she even threatened Senator Imee Marcos that she would exhume former President Ferdinand Marcos's remains and throw them into the West Philippine Sea if they did not stop.
Furthermore, Duterte candidly shared that she had also thought of removing Marcos Jr.'s head after he humiliated a graduate who asked for his watch as a graduation gift, adding that her relationship with the President has become "toxic".
The Vice President also criticized Marcos Jr. for being 'incompetent' as president, giving him a performance rating of 1 out of 10.
On October 11, President Marcos expressed disappointment over Duterte's statement that they were not truly friends.
"I don't know anymore, but I'm not quite sure I understand. I'm a little dismayed to hear that she doesn't think we were friends," Marcos said.
"I always thought that we were, but maybe I was deceived," the President added.
