Amidst the traditional New Year celebrations marked by fireworks, another cherished event unfolded at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital – the arrival of the so-called New Year babies.
In a report by RH Jecelle Ricafort, four healthy newborns were delivered at the hospital to usher in the New Year, bringing joy to their families and the medical staff.
According to Dr. Jergen Cruz, Senior House Officer at Fabella Hospital, the first New Year baby was born to 27-year-old Lea Mae Razo. Baby Alea Jayde entered the world exactly at midnight, following a grueling 13-hour labor.
Shortly after, two more baby girls were delivered. Cathlyn Olarez gave birth at 12:47 AM, followed by Joy Valencia at 2:29 AM.
Later in the morning, Vanessa Anera welcomed a baby boy at 4:26 AM, while two other mothers were still in labor as of the latest update.
In past years, sponsors typically offered gifts and baby essentials to celebrate the arrival of New Year babies. However, this year, no gifts were provided to the newborns.
Despite this, the birth of these children continues to symbolize hope and new beginnings as the world welcomes 2025.
