The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested four suspects involved in fake land sales during an operation in Orani, Bataan. Meanwhile, efforts to locate their three other accomplices are ongoing.
According to Police Director PBGen. Nicolas Torre III, the suspects were identified under the aliases "APrilyn" and "Junie," along with two others whose names have yet to be disclosed, as reported by RH Edniel Parrosa.
The suspects were caught in an entrapment operation after extorting ₱2 million from the victim. They had initially demanded ₱1 million in exchange for a piece of land in Subic, Zambales.
Upon their arrest, authorities discovered that the suspects’ land documents and IDs were counterfeit.
The suspects now face charges of syndicated estafa in relation to Article 3 to 5 of the Revised Penal Code.
General Torre urged the public to remain vigilant against similar scams and financial crimes. He also encouraged reporting any suspicious transactions to avoid becoming victims.
