

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested seven individuals—five foreigners and two Filipinos—allegedly involved in a suspected illegal gaming hub in Makati City.
The seven apprehended suspects were identified as three male Taiwanese, one male Myanmar national, one female Chinese, and two Filipinas. Their busted illegal internet gaming hub was discovered offering online gambling services to international markets.
According to the CIDG at least 41 employees of the alleged illegal gaming hub revealed that the arrested suspects hired them as customer service and information technology officers for computer-related business and services, however, the employees were allegedly assigned to do internet gaming operations.
The CIDG on the scene reportedly confiscated 59 units of computer monitors, 27 units of desktop computers, 10 computer processor units, information communication technology (ICT) devices, 25 pieces of pre-registered SIM cards, 227 assorted identification cards (IDs), and business documents.
The arrested individuals are currently charged with violations against Presidential Decree No. 1602 in relation to Executive Order No. 74, Republic Act No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012); and Republic Act No. 8484 (Access Devices Act of 1998).
