Around 300 prohibited objects were confiscated from visitors entering Manila South Cemetery on Friday morning during the observance of Undas.

The Manila Police District (MPD) has prohibited items that include fireworks, sharp objects, alcoholic beverages, portable grills or cooking equipment, large bags and backpacks, pets, and loud sound systems or musical instruments.

In an interview with DZRH News, Cpl. Karen Jane Tulabot of Station 6 of the MPD stated that most confiscated items could be returned, except for knives, cigarettes, and alcohol.

One incident involved a visitor from Pasig City who was not allowed to enter the cemetery because she brought her pet. To comply with the rules, she planned to swap visits with her sibling.

In another case, a 29-year-old man experienced a seizure and foamed at the mouth while at the Manila South Cemetery; he was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Additionally, one senior citizen felt dizzy, and another individual complained of fatigue from walking, prompting them to have their blood pressure checked at the medical station in Manila South Cemetery.

According to the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW), as of 9 a.m., more than 11,000 visitors had entered the cemetery in the past four hours.
