Several individuals who experienced various medical emergencies during All Saints’ Day ON Friday, were assisted by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The humanitarian aid group said that four major cases were recorded on Friday. Three of the symptoms cited by the PRC were nausea, difficulty breathing, and swelling in the head caused by accidents.
Two patients were rushed to a hospital in Parañaque, but the PRC did not disclose the reason. Additionally, the aid group also recorded 42 people who sustained minor wound cases, first degree burn, hyperventilation, heat exhaustion, skin irritation, spain, and high blood pressure.
Based on the PRC's initial assessment, compared to 2023, fewer people got their blood pressure taken. They believe that this is because people saw the holiday as an opportunity to reunite with their families, adding that they did not want to be disturbed.
The 329 first aid stations continue to be operational, along with the PRC’s 159 welfare desks.
In observance of Undas, 600 ambulances were deployed in the whole country, including 2,927 first aid volunteers, 104 foot patrol volunteers, and 53 mobile units.
The PRC's Undas operations will continue until November 3.
