Three more individuals have withdrawn their petition against incumbent Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez and Congresswoman Ruth Hernandez at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

RH 29 Boy Gonzales reported on Friday, May 9, that three individuals indicated as witnesses in the petition for disqualification against the Hernandezes filed a motion to withdraw before the Comelec. According to Atty. Kenneth Beo, the three individuals were unaware that their names would be used in the document filed.

Earlier this week, Beo accompanied four individuals to withdraw from the disqualification case against the Hernandezes before the Comelec. According to the former, the four petitioners’ signatures were forged, and they were also unaware that their names were used to file a petition.

Additionally, Beo stated that the three witnesses were startled when they found out their names were listed in the sinumpaang salaysay and petition. Their camp suspects that the document was independently filed.

“Pero nagulat na lang ang aking kliyente kung bakit sila rin ay nandodoon at kasali sa unang petisyon,” he said.

The three individuals were also included in the first petition as witnesses. In the second petition filed, they were listed as petitioners.

Apart from them, three more witnesses executed their motion to withdraw in the simupaang salaysay.

Seven individuals have withdrawn from the petition, including the four petitioners who said their signatures were forged in the disqualification case against the Hernandezes for alleged vote buying.
