The Philippine National Police (PNP) disclosed on Friday that the two Special Action Force (SAF) personnel who were involved in the reported moonlighting racket for a Chinese national will be put under preliminary investigation.

Based on the report of RH Val Gonzales, PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the preliminary investigation will begin this Friday at 1 p.m.

Four of the nine arrested police officials are currently in Metro Manila. As of this writing, the other five are reportedly on their way.

The nine cops are currently facing administrative complaints for “grave irregularity in the performance of duty, which is providing security detail to an individual without the express authority from the chief PNP.”

PNP Chief Romil Marbil noted that they are currently conducting an inventory of all police officers to identify those who are also committing the same act.

Marbil reiterated that only the Police Security and Protection Group and not SAF members are authorized to provide security services to anyone.

He assured that the PNP will be more strict on the "No Threat, No Protection policy".

The nine cops were temporarily released on Wednesday but were placed under restrictive custody.
