Following the President’s announcement of the top 15 contractors routinely engaged in flood control work, Senator Villanueva clarified the Senate's position during a press briefing on Monday, August 8. He asserted that no senators are associated with the identified firms
“As far as I’m concerned dito sa Senado, wala akong kilalang senador na linked dito sa any of the 15 na contractors na binabanggit.” he said.
Villanueva also expressed his disappointment regarding the flood control projects implemented over the past three years, underscoring a consistent pattern of inefficiency.
In addition, the Senator voiced his hope that the President and his team would continue to investigate these troubling issues. He noted the importance of having comprehensive intelligence reports to address the issue.
“Ngayon po mas maganda na ang Pangulo na mismo na mayroong malawak at maraming intelligence reports, information ang nagbanggit nito.” he stated.
