Two former members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) in Central Luzon have surrendered to authorities and pledged allegiance to the government.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, director of the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), identified the two as "Ka Tito" and "Ka Tibbey," who voluntarily surrendered to joint military and police troops over the weekend in Aurora province and Olongapo City, respectively.
According to Pasiwen, Ka Tito, a former member of an Underground Mass Organization (UGMO) affiliated with the National Democratic Front, also turned over one homemade/improvised shotgun with two live cartridges and two rifle grenades.
Ka Tibbey, a former CTG member under Yunit Paniktik of Komiteng Larangan Gerilya Tarlac-Zambales (KLG TAR-ZAM), on the other hand, surrendered a hand grenade, a.38-caliber revolver with no serial number, and five live ammunition.
Pasiwen urged the remaining communist terrorists to lay down their arms and take advantage of the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
