Two people were killed, including a police officer, while four others were seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Julita, Leyte on Monday.

The fatalities were identified by police as Noli Caa and Pat. Vincent Paul Abad.

According to reports, Abad was riding his motorcycle when he overtook a slow-moving mini dump truck and failed to notice an oncoming Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Caa, resulting in a head-on collision near the Julita town center around 12:20 p.m.

Abad and Caa both died on the spot while receiving treatment at the Burauen District Hospital.

Pickup truck passengers Jonaliza Maldo, Christine Codilla, Loreto Baloes, and mini dump truck driver Felix Cabudoc were seriously injured in the head-on collision. They were both transported to the same hospital.
