Award-winning actor Andre Braugher, who starred in the American series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Homicide: Life on the Street” has passed away at the age of 61, his publicist revealed on Tuesday, Dec.12.

According to a New York Time’s report, Braugher’s publicist Jennifer Allen said the actor died on Monday following a brief illness which she did not elaborate on.

Braugher won an Emmy award in 1998 and two Television Critics Association Awards in 1997 and 1998.

Among Braugher’s films were “Gideon’s Crossing” (2000-2001), “Men of a Certain Age” (2009-2011), and the Oscar-winning film “Glory.”
