The inaugural golf tournament of Round Table Philippines is set for May 1 at the newly-renovated Mountainview Course of the Mimosa Plus Golf Course in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
Held in partnership with co-presenter, Collabera Digital, “A Round of Golf with Tablers,” is a qualifier for the World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC), with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the SOS Children’s Villages.
Touted as the world’s largest amateur golf tournament, 46 countries, including the Philippines, are expected at clash in this year’s WAGC scheduled on Oct. 26 to Nov. 3 in Phuket, Thailand.
Winners in five classes – A, B, C, D, and E – of this Round Table tourney will advance to the national finals to earn the privilege of representing the Philippines in Phuket.
SOS Children’s Villages was founded in 1949 to care for post-World War II orphans; today, some 70 years later, the organization reports to have supported about 4 million children and youth through programs in more than 130 countries.
Round Table, founded in 1927 in Norwich, England, is an international organization fostering personal development, community service, and camaraderie among some 35,000 members in 65 countries.
The registration fee for the event is Php6,500 which includes the green fee, shared golf cart, morning snack, lunch buffet, giveaways, raffle prizes and a Php3,000 Gift Certificate from K&G.
Caddie fees are to be paid directly to Mimosa Plus upon registration, which starts at 5 a.m. followed by a shotgun tee-off at 7 a.m.

Mimosa Plus’ website describes Mountainview’s signature 16th hole as, “modest in length but mighty in challenge; testing even the most seasoned players’ accuracy, with a wide yet narrow green.”
GolfPass (golfpass.com) lists the hole distances for each tee as follows: red, 92 yards; white, 114 yards; blue, 145 yards; and gold, 152 yards. Par 3. Handicap 16.
