Albay swimmer Bert Justine Bausing Narciso expressed his overjoy after breaking his record and accomplishing a 9-hour swim from Albay to Sorsogon.
In a Facebook post, Narciso proudly shared that he was able to swim 27.63 km in nine hours, 11 minutes, and 42 seconds from Sta. Cruz, Donsol, and Sorsogon to Punta Almara in Sitio Tambac, Maonon, Ligao City, and ended up at Pio Duran Fish Port.
According to Narciso, this is his new personal record after he swam from Sta. Cruz, Donsol, Sorsogon, to Marigondon, Pio Duran, and Albay for 11.8 km in March 2022, where he finished in 3 hours and 38 minutes.
Narciso thanked his family and his team for supporting and guiding him.
"I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has been there for me as I embarked on the journey to break my personal record in long-distance swimming," said Narciso in a Facebook post.
"Your unshakeable faith in me, your continuous support, and your limitless love have always motivated me and been the main reasons for my achievements. I am incredibly thankful for each of you," he added.
The 24-year-old triathlete's passion for his sport began at a young age. He is now a trainer for his fellow athletes and swimmers.
