The tandem of presidential candidate Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte reiterated their calls to their supporters to protect their votes on May 9 local and national elections.
"Panalo na! Basta’t bantayan niyo ‘yung boto sa Lunes na walang tulugan. Hihingi tayo sa lahat ng kaibigan natin ng maraming-maraming kape para walang matutulog dahil alam naman natin kapag tayo ay natulog maraming nangyayari na ‘di kanais nais," Marcos said during the UniTeam's Mindanao Miting de Avance rally in Tagum City on Thursday night.
[We have won! As long as all of you watch your votes on Monday without sleeping. We will ask our friends for lots of coffee so that you won't fall asleep because we know that a lot of unfortunate things happen when we sleep.]
The former senator was referring to the 2016 vice-presidential elections where he lost to then Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo. Despite the ruling of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) in favor of Robredo, Marcos has long claimed that he was cheated on while sleeping.
This is also not the first time that he urged his supporters to be vigilant of their votes.
In a video uploaded on Wednesday, Marcos said: "Protektahan po natin ang ating naging desisyon at 'wag po nating hayaang ito'y muling nakawin sa atin."
Marcos also asked the voters to support the UniTeam ticket in order to ensure unity among Filipinos.
[As the campaign unfolded, the unity among Filipinos started to grow and unified the entire Philippines. You didn't wait for the elections, nor the election results, but Filipinos are leading the movement of unity that we started, we are fighting for, and we are calling for as this would be good for the country.]
The UniTeam led by the BBM-Sara tandem is set to hold their final miting de avance in Parañaque City on Saturday, May 7.
Marcos Jr. and Duterte have been enjoying a wide lead in the pre-election surveys.
