Vice President Sara Duterte and her brother, Davao City 1st District Congressman Paolo Duterte, reportedly flew to Netherlands to assist their father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD).
In a report by Henry Uri during Damdaming Bayan on Wednesday, it was revealed that the Vice President's flight took off at 7:50 a.m. via a commercial flight.
Meanwhile, her brother Paolo flew earlier, before 6 a.m.
Uri's trusted source mentioned that no lawyers were with them on the flight.
In her earlier statement, the Vice President called the government's compliance with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) "oppression and persecution," adding that the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) intervention was an insult to Philippine sovereignty.
"This is a blatant affront to our sovereignty and an insult to every Filipino who believes in our nation’s independence," she said.
"Worse, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is being denied his fundamental rights. Since he was taken this morning, he has not been brought before any competent judicial authority to assert his rights and to allow him to avail himself of reliefs provided by law," she added.
Based on FlightRadar24, as of 8:04 AM (PST), the plane carrying former President Rodrigo Duterte had landed in Dubai, UAE, for a layover before continuing on to The Hague, Netherlands.
FPRRD took off at 11:03 PM on Tuesday evening and exited Philippine airspace, according to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
"The plane is en route to The Hague in the Netherlands, allowing the former president to face charges of crimes against humanity in relation to his bloody war on drugs," said the president in a statement.
The former president was arrested on Teusday upon his arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 by a warrant of arrest from the ICC.
Marcos stood firm, stating that the government's action was only to assist INTERPOL as it remains committed to the organization.
"If we don't do that, they will no longer help us with other cases involving Filipino fugitives abroad," he said.
