Social media personality Jack Argota on Wednesday appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), following a subpoena issued over the circulation of what was supposed to be President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s medical records.
At the NBI’s Cybercrime Division Office, Argota insisted he was innocent, reported RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort.
According to NBI Spokesperson Palmer Mallari, the vlogger was summoned last Friday, but he appealed to appear on Wednesday instead.
Earlier, the Palace directed the bureau to investigate the spread of the President’s fake medical test results. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro speculated that this may be part of destabilization efforts against the current administration.
St. Luke’s Medical Center, which had supposedly issued the medical report, denied having done so and asserted that they strictly adhere to patient confidentiality and data privacy.
Previously, the NBI filed a cyberlibel case against former broadcaster Jay Sonza and content creator Ka Eric Celiz over similar allegations.
