The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) raised the yellow alert status in the Visayas grid and extended the schedule for the yellow alert status in the Luzon grid on Monday, April 29.
"The extension of yellow alert in Luzon and declaration of yellow alert in Visayas is due to increase in forecasted demand," NGCP said it in its 1 PM advisory.
The yellow alert was raised at 1 PM in the Visayas grid and will end at 4 PM.
The alert level status will once again take effect from 6 PM to 8 PM.
The NGCP said the Visayas grid's available capacity is 2,835MW, but the forecasted peak demand is 2,596MW.

Meanwhile, the Philippine power grid operator adjusted the schedule for the yellow alert in the Luzon grid.
The yellow alert took effect at 2 PM and is expected to end at 5 PM.
The alert status will take effect once again from 6 PM to 11 PM.
As per NGCP, the available capacity in the Luzon grid is at 14,952MW, but peak demand is forecasted to reach 13,893MW.
