‘Walk of Faith’ will temporarily replace the annual event ‘Traslacion’ of Quiapo Church for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an announcement, Fr. Earl Allyson Valdez M.A., Priest of Quiapo Church said the "Walk of Faith" will be held on January 8, 2023, where the clergy will walk to Quirino Grandstand and back to Quiapo Church without the image of the Black Nazarene.
According to Fr. Valdez, the event will be organized and will observe the minimum health protocols such as social distancing and wearing of face masks, for the safety of the people.
The devotees can bring small images of the Nazarene.
Earlier, Valdez confirmed that the traditional Traslacion for the Black Nazarene held every January will still not push through in 2023, making it the third consecutive year.
The Feast of the Black Nazarene or Traslacion is celebrated every January 9. The procession, which most of the time lasts for about 24 hours, begins at the Quirino Grandstand and ends at Quiapo Church.
