United States Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff on Tuesday arrived in Manila ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on June 30.
Emhoff was welcomed by US Embassy in the Philippines Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Heather Variava.
"Join me in welcoming [Second Gentleman] Douglas Emhoff on his first trip to the Philippines! He is in the country to attend the inauguration of President-elect Marcos and meet with Filipino U.S.," she said in a tweet.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden named the members of the US delegation who will grace the oath-taking ceremony of Marcos at the National Museum on Thursday.
Emhoff, the husband of US Vice President Kamala Harris, will lead the delegation.
Aside from Emhoff, the following delegation members will also attend the inauguration:

- Bobby Scott, Chairman of the Committee on Education and Labor, United States Representative (D), Virginia

- Chantale Y. Wong, US Director of the Asian Development Bank
