Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday thanked President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. for giving his support to Ukraine.
In a Twitter post, Zelenskyy said that Marcos' expressed his support during their first phone call.
"Had the first phone call in the history of bilateral relations with President of the Philippines @bongbongmarcos. Thanked him for supporting sovereignty & territorial integrity of 🇺🇦," he said.
The Ukraine President said they discussed "further deepening" cooperation on international platforms.
Last January, Marcos clarified that he did not ignore the phone call request of Zelenskyy back in June 2022.
He earlier pronounced that he has no problem conversing with the Ukraine President, and also said that the country would give the needed support to Ukraine.
