Two suspected members of a robbery-kidnapping group died after involving in a shootout with authorities on Thursday, June 3, along the Southern Luzon Expressway in Calamba, Laguna.

The shooting incident resulted to heavy traffic in the area.

Police conducted a hot-pursuit operation after the Regional Intelligence Division- Anti-Carnapping Unit received a report that two men abducted a Chinese national in Parañaque City.

Reports stated that authorities managed to locate the white Toyota van that the suspects used, but they opened fire after noticing the presence of the police.
