On Wednesday, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV filed drug smuggling charges at the Department of Justice (DOJ) against former Presidential Son Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte, the husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, Atty. Mans Carpio, former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon, and other individuals allegedly linked in the P6.4B shabu shipment in 2017.
"I filed a case against Pulong Duterte and other members of the Davao group smuggling syndicate," Trillanes said after filing the case in DOJ.
"Ito ay in connection with the P6.4 B shabu shipment na nahuli noong 2017. Ang mga nakalap naming ebidensya ay bunga nung Senate investigations nung 2017 din pero ito ‘yung pinilit pagtakpan noong Duterte administration noong sila’y nakapwesto pa," he added.
In 2017, The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee conducted a series of hearings that dwelled on the shabu shipment from China that arrived in the country and was given approval for release by the Bureau of Customs through ‘green lane’, over 600 kg of shabu were seized.
"May mga documentary at testimonial evidence tayong nakalap," Trillanes revealed.
Trillanes also claimed that the drug lord in the operations was Charlie Tan and was working with his partner Michael Yang.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he will also file plunder charges against Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go in soonest time.
"Kasi ito 'yung pinangako ko, sabi ko 'pag nawala sila sa pwesto, kaliwa't kanang kaso ang i-ffile ko sa kanila kasi hindi namin ma-file noon. Noong mga panahong nakapwesto sila," he said.
Trillanes said that he won't stop making these individuals accountable from the crimes they committed.
