Vice President Sara Duterte said the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention unit has imposed restrictions on her and her siblings when visiting their father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands.

According to the Vice President, they are now only allowed to confirm his condition to the public, but not to disclose what transpired during their visits.

“From now on, bawal ikwento ‘yong mga nangyari sa loob at ano ‘yong mga pinagusapan sa loob. I can only say na President Duterte is still alive,” Duterte said.

The former president is set to appear before the ICC pre-trial chamber on September 23 for a confirmation of charges hearing over crimes against humanity linked to his administration’s war on drugs.
