Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday, August 29, urged the Marcos administration to consult Filipino communities overseas and adopt best practices from other countries in addressing flooding in the Philippines.
“Dapat gawin nila ’yung ginagawa ko,” Duterte said, pointing out that her international trips allow her to observe and study solutions implemented abroad with the Filipino communities.
“The Overseas Filipinos and Overseas Filipino Workers Ang pinaka the best na mga consultants, kasi sila yung nakatira, naka-ikot sa buong mundo, nakapagtrabaho sa iba’t ibang lugar. Alam nila ang best practices,” she added.
The Vice President is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, where her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is detained and facing charges of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court over his bloody drug war.
Duterte’s frequent overseas travels, however, have drawn criticism from Malacañang and some lawmakers, who earlier questioned the necessity and cost of her trips.
