The scheduled transfer of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo from the PNP Custodial Center to Pasig City Jail last night was postponed due to the failure to complete the required documents.
“At 10: 27 ngayong gabi, nagcoordinate ang PNP sa BJMP, sa amin ngayon dito, na hindi matutuloy ang transfer ngayong gabi," Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera said during an interview with media on Friday evening.
"According to the PNP, hindi po nila nakumpleto ang [mga] documents," he added.
Included among the said documents are medical records, x-ray results, and other documentary requirements.
Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167 ordered the transfer of Guo to the Pasig City Jail female dormitory from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Meanwhile, the BJMP assured that no special treatment will be given to the former mayor once she is transferred to the female dormitory of the detention facility.
For transparency, Bustinera showed the media the uniform that Guo will wear inside the jail, identical to those worn by her fellow PDLs, as well as the hygiene kit that will be provided to her.
“PDL uniform natin, isang t-shirt – several t-shirts ito actually – at jogging pants, and then hygiene kit na tinatawag para sa ating female PDL, para sa supply niya sa loob," said Bustinera.
Bustinera clarified that Guo's relatives, lawyer, spiritual adviser, and doctor will be allowed to visit her.
“Susunod sa schedule po ng BJMP, strictly 1PM to 5PM Tuesday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday po whole day, except Monday walang dalaw. General cleaning day," Bustinera mentioned.
"Ang kanyang abogado ay anytime pwedeng dumalaw at karapatan niya naman po ‘yon. Ganon din ang kanyang spiritual adviser at doctor of her choice, pwede pong dumalaw anytime," he addded.
Additionally, Bustinera said that Guo will be housed with other persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in the female dormitory.
Overall, Bustinera stated that there are currently 136 PDLs detained in the female dormitory, which exceeds the ideal capacity of only 36 inmates.
Despite this, the BJMP assured that Guo remains safe from any threats within the cell, as they have an intelligence unit in the facility.
