Chairman of House Committee on Ways and Means and Albay Representative Joey Salceda discourages the total ban of POGO in the country.
Salceda mentioned that this is a sensitive move for those compliant POGO companies that might get dragged down by those illegal operators.
He stated that legitimate companies may help in giving tips against illegal entities just like the tobacco sector in the country.
The representative also claimed that emploing total ban does not ensure the end of illegal POGO due to the weak filtering of the Immigration and incompetence in intelligence and infiltration.
Instead, he suggested the continued policy of PAGCOR regarding taxation on POGO with the use POGO Tax Law.
Any income coming from POGO must be utilized for funding the strengthening of law enforncement in the said sector.
