The secretary of Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo 'Arnie' Teves Jr. will file a complaint before the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) against Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) - Dumaguete for alleged violation of human rights.
Hanna May Oray and 5 other personnel were arrested by the PNP-CIDG during the raid in Teves' five houses last March 10. Violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act was earlier filed against her.
She emotionally faced the media on Monday and recounted how a PNP-CIDG official allegedly threatened her to cooperate.
"Alam daw niya ang mga gawain ko. Dapat daw po sabihin ko ang totoo kasi kung hindi, patong-patong na kaso raw po ang kaharapin ko," Oray recalled.
"Dadalhin daw niya ako sa Manila. Masisira raw po ang buhay ko. Hindi ko na raw po makikita ang anak ko, 60 years daw ako makukulong," she added.
Oray said the PNP-CIDG official advised her to think carefully choose whose side she will take, adding that the officer even called her a "drug addict."
Toby Diokno, Oray's legal counsel, pointed out that his client should not be detained in the first place.
"Mula sa pag-aresto sa kaniya, naninindigan kami at si Hanah May, na walang dahilan para siya ay i-detain dahil walang kaso. Na-dismissed 'yung kaso sa kaniya after inquest proceedings for no probable cause," he said.
Diokno also said that the firearms seized from Oray's husband, who was also arrested and detained by the PNP-CIDG, have license documents.
"Nakakapagtaka kahit may lisensya ito, pinakita 'yung lisensya, dinetain pa rin at noong nakarating na sila sa CIDG Dumaguete, 'yung lisensya raw ay revoked but it is still valid at the time of the servie of the warrant," he added.
Oray is also facing three murder complaints in connection to the killing perpetuated in Negros Oriental.
