Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Deputy Director General Anecito Bertiz III urged the public, particularly the workers, to mobilize their skills and gain micro-credentials, during a public briefing on December 13.
Bertiz said that the countrymen, specifically the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) must improve their skills and knowledge.
He noted that there are many courses offered by TESDA including ladderized program and three-year diploma courses on electrical engineering and agricultural technologies.
Moreover, Bertiz said that the country has inked a deal with Hungary on the latest training and skills development, prioritizing agriculture, construction, IT-BPOs, healthcare, and tourism.
He added that they are offering foreign languages, such as Nihongo, Chinese, Mandarin, Korean, German, French, and Arabic as they previously strengthened the foreign language skills training and it has given huge job opportunities.
According to the TESDA deputy director, they are coordinating with local government units in boosting modern skills training, such as cyber security, modern agriculture technology, drone operation, and renewable energies.
Meanwhile, 86% of TESDA graduates are able to find a job both in the Philippines and abroad.
