The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is now turning to the public for assistance in designing a new logo.
This comes after the recent controversy over PAGCOR's three-million-peso logo and the introduction of the "Bagong Pilipinas" branding.
TESDA has initiated a logo-making contest for its fresh slogan, "Sa TESDA, Lingap ay Maaasahan," which advocates for more inclusive technical and vocational education, emphasizing the notion of "giving service with a heart."
The agency highlighted its commitment to providing accessible and free Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the nation, reaching millions of Filipinos through various training modalities over the years.
"The New TESDA Slogan demonstrates the Agency's stronger advocacy to level up the standard of access to quality-assured and globally competitive Tech-Voc and communicate to the public TESDA's aspiration to provide public service with a heart aligned with the Administration's Brand of Governance and Leadership 'Bagong Pilipinas'," they stated.
The contest is open to the public, and interested artists can submit their entries starting Tuesday, July 18, with the chance to win P10,000 as a prize.
Participants are required to design a logo that embodies the essence of the new TESDA slogan and submit a one-paragraph explanation of the logo's significance.
As the contest gained attention on social media, netizens expressed mixed reactions, with some praising the initiative while others raised concerns about the prize money.
First, the Department of Tourism. Then PAGCOR. Then, TESDA. Same concept. Why is this Administration busy with logos and sloganeering? The fiasco with Frasco and PAGCOR's P3 million logo must be the model. pic.twitter.com/tqq6hejZaW
