South Korean authorities have disclosed the cause of the late actress Kim Sae-ron’s death, reports say.
A report by South Korean media said that the regular briefing at the National Office of Investigation on Monday revealed that Sae-ron’s death is presumed to be a suicide, and will be handled as an unattended death case.
Authorities ruled that there were no signs of forced entry or foul play. Additionally, the police noted they also did not find a will or note left by the late actress before her death.
On Monday, numerous media outlets reported that the actress was found dead at her home in Seoul. South Korean police said that Sae-ron was discovered by a friend, whom she promised to meet up with on the day she was found.
A private funeral for the late actress was held shortly after, with several South Korean celebrities in attendance, according to a report by the media.
Sae-ron made her acting debut in 2009, with the film “A Brand New Life.” A year later, she gained nationwide attention for starring in “The Man from Nowhere.”
Her acting career took a toll in 2022 after she was involved in a DUI incident, where she crashed into nearby establishments. The late actress issued an apology through a handwritten letter shortly after.
Sae-ron stepped out of the limelight a few months later, taking on part-time jobs to cover the settlement expenses for the incident. The following year, she was fined 20 million won by the Seoul Central District Court.
